Cozumel diving Cozumel diving

Join us for the Scuba Club Cozumel
Digital Workshop & Photo Contest
July 16-23, 2011

We've been running workshops for many years and this one will be the biggest and best of them all with lots of fun, prizes, photo pros and surprises! Here's your chance to get all your questions answered and improve your underwater photography skills.

Everybody is bringing cameras to capture the beautiful reefs of Cozumel. This workshop is designed to show you how to use your digital camera and get the best shots possible when shooting underwater. No camera is too big or too small! Not only is this workshop a lot of fun, but you'll learn all about how to improve your underwater photography by shooting better and improving on what you've captured by using Adobe Photoshop.

Check out the Scuba Club photo scrapbook for snapshots from previous workshops.

Your instructor and host is Bonnie Pelnar, author of "The Digital Workflow for Underwater Photographers", part of a series of courses available at TheUnderwaterPhotographer.com. Bonnie has made over 30 trips to Cozumel and she knows where and how to find the best Cozumel has to offer and can show you how to capture it with your camera.

In addition to the presentations, slide shows and seminars, Bonnie will be available to dive with you each day. We will set up a special photographer's boat, so if you wish to dive with the rest of the shooters, you are welcome to come along.

At the end of the week we'll be having a photo contest with awards and prizes!

For more information contact Bonnie. We can no longer accept walk-ins that have not contacted Bonnie in advance.

Airlines that fly directly into Cozumel are Continental, American, Mexicana, Delta, Aeromexico, US Airways, Northwest and United. It just depends on where you're coming from.

Course prerequisites: You must be a certified diver with intermediate to advanced diving skills to attend this workshop. The coral reefs are very fragile, so we want to be assured that you have your buoyancy under control before you decide to dive with a camera. If you are comfortable with your buoyancy but haven't dived in a while and would like a refresher, a course in buoyancy control will be available through the dive shop on Saturday and/or Sunday before the workshop begins. There is an extra fee for this refresher course. Its highly recommended if you're not comforable with your buoyance while carrying a camera.

The format of the workshop will depend on the needs of the participants. I like to keep things flexible so I can get an idea from you about where you feel you need improvement, then tailor the presentations around what people need most.

We will be providing some Sea & Sea demo gear that will be available for your use at a discounted rental and/or purchase rate during this workshop. We'll also be offering instruction on how to use Alex Mustard's Magic Filters for those of you who wish to shoot without a strobe.

This is a great opportunity to try new products and accessories before buying! With the addition of an external strobe or filters to your digital housing, you'll get GREAT SHOTS!

If you're interested in rental cameras or strobes for your camera, you must contact Bonnie well in advance so we can be sure to bring along the correct adapters and synch cords for your camera or housing!

Thank you to all our sponsors!
